I found a piece of paper recently. It had the title 5 Distractions and then a list. I was meant to pin this on the wall to remind me of things that help when I’m feeling overwhelmed, anxious or fatigued. The idea is that these are things that breaks me out of a pattern for a few moments, resets or lifts me, and allows me to focus again afterwards. The list is as follows:
- Play guitar and/or (attempt to) sing – this always boosts my mood
- Read an art book (or fiction if I need a break from art)
- Exercise/go for a walk outside
- Video games (this one doesn’t always work)
- Draw something I can see
It’s fortuitous timing that I found this list, as recently it’s felt like there is so much to think about that I have struggled to pay attention to anything. I’m now slowly working through my ‘to do’ list in a patient way, remembering to take breaks as needed and ‘distract myself’ every now and then too.
Here’s some of the things that I have been distracted from recently:

Tidying Up
Well, it is Spring and I have felt my websites and emails look a little scrappy for a while so I have started tidying them up. I wanted a cleaner look and also to make things all a bit more personal and (hopefully) interesting moving forward. Please let me know what you think.
I’ve given this website a new, clean look and plan to do something similar to the shop. I feel the shop isn’t too user friendly at the moment and would value any comments you have on how it could be improved. It’s the first online shop I have created so please let me know your ideas. Has this website revamp been successful?
Thanks for reading.
